Description
In the Petit Carenage wetland on the island of Carriacou we saw 2 Whimbrels, 5 Willets, 6 Stilt Sandpipers, 5 Wilson's Plovers (including at least 1 immature), 1 Great Egret, 1 Little Blue Heron (immature), 4 Least Sandpipers and 4 Magnificent Frigatebirds.
In the brushy area closer to the road we saw Ground Doves, Scaley-naped Pigeon, Tropical Mockingbirds and Bananaquits.
Petit Carenage is an important mangrove wetland on Carriacou for migratory and resident waterbirds - a definite stop on the Caribbean Birding Trail.
