First morning in Grenada

08:50 Oct 18 2012 St George, Grenada

Description
We are beginning our CBT explorations in Grenada today. Our target for this morning is the Grendada dove. Sitting on the deck, waiting on our guide, I have seen Antillean crested hummingbird, common ground-dove, smooth-billed ani, house wren, gray kingbird, and magnificent frigatebird. What a nice Caribbean mix to start the morning.

Grenada dove fairly easy to spot but must be very quiet as it is very shy.

Yes, we saw the Grenada Dove first thing this morning. We were very quiet on the trail behind the Mt. Hartman Visitor Centre and within a few minutes spotted the dove walking on the ground near the trail. It crossed the trail and continued on. We all had great looks of this very special bird!
